“ I’m a native Texan and have been looking for Texas BBQ in the DMV. This BBQ was delicious! There’s a wide variety of proteins that are seasoned so well and the sides have a fun spin on them! There were a few minor things that I’d take points off for when trying the food out (which could of been one batch only): the sausage was a bit mealy and needed more binder and the turkey was slightly dry. However, the brisket was from a TEXTBOOK! A true star. I had brought a friend that doesn’t like brisket and he said the brisket from 2fifty’s is brisket he would eat every time. Dessert was delicious and had some fun seasonal treats too such as a cherry blossom cake and the service was great. I was warmly welcomed at the door, the food line, and when leaving. This BBQ beats its competitors by a long shot and I truly can’t wait to take all of my visitors from Texas to 2fifty. See you soon! ”
“ Absolutely phenomenal food, ok service, and a spacious venue made this overall a great experience. I've had the pleasure of sampling 2fifty when they were a stall at Union Market, and they haven't skipped a beat in their new brick and mortar location. I had the brisket and ribs, as well a spicy cheddar sausage and some corn salad (with taki powder!) and everything was epic. I would say my favorites were the brisket and the cheddar sausage but it's really close. Their sauces are amazing but honestly the meat is seasoned so well and made to perfection that it doesn't need a drop. I also sampled the mac & cheese and brisket tamales my friend ordered and they were both tremendous too. Service was fine, just a couple of folks that were a bit terse and not friendly, but not everyone. ”
“ Hill country was my go to in DC when I was here. I looked forward to going there on my annual DC trip and was crushed when it closed. A local brother of mine recommended 2Fifty and promised me it would not disappoint, he was correct. I got the Turkey and Brisket. Turkey was perfectly cooked, not dry, and full of flavor. Brisket was top notch, smoked to perfection. I liked that they only offered a regular and spicy sauce, and the spicy was just the perfect amount of heat! Potato salad was excellent and the Mac and Cheese was just as good. Highly recommend. ”
“ I went here with my daughter. I had the whole hog sandwich, brisket beans and the Esquites (corn salad). The sandwich came with coleslaw and pickles and was very good. The beans had an option of jalapenos, which I had and they were savory and delicious. The corn, to my surprise, was Mexican street corn and it was VERY tasty (highly recommend). My daughter got some Mac n Cheese. She said it was very filling. The music felt Mexican/Caribbean which gave it all a great vibe. Service was also very nice. Great job. ”
“ Amazing Texas BBQ. Wide selection of meats such as Brisket, Sausage, Whole Hog, Chicken, Turkey. Tons of side options as well. This place can get busy for lunch so expect a line. The brisket was perfect. Sausage was just okay. The price is pretty typical for this level of BBQ. They offer a military discount, ask about it at check out! ”
“ 5 stars for 5 reasons 1. The Wagyu brisket is soo good! If you want fatty, juicy, tender and moist! Wagyu is it. The normal brisket is a bit less fatty but still very delicious. The Dino is as good super flavorful but my favorite is still the Wagyu brisket. 2. The sides are delicious! The Mac and cheese tasty! Love the burnt parts. The potatoe salad is awesome! 3. The price is very good considering it’s DC. 4. Portion very good portion size. 5. Nice workers and relatively fast service considering folks will ask questions when they get up there. ”
“ Come HUNGRY! Pick and plate your bbq mix by the pound (brisket, pork, lamb, and chicken) and choose between small and large sides. This is the Subway of BBQ with how fast the line moves. Also, male sure you try that American Wagyu brisket. Its tender and slices with a fork as if it were cake! ”
“ I decided to try the DC location in NoMa and it's just as delicious as the location in Maryland I had the wagyu brisket sandwich with beans and tater salad. Came with slaw on it so got 3 sides. They had brisket tamales that were just ok. The star of the show is meat and sides and it did not disappoint ”
